Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have fired all cylinders this year, in the Premier League. The trio has scored 44 goals in the Premier League and are only second to Manchester City’s front three.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have had their best goal-scoring season this year, despite being sidelined for a few months. Both have 17 goals to their name each and have performed impeccably this season. Anthony Martial also registered his first hat-trick, achieving the feat against Sheffield United. Mason Greenwood scored 10 goals in his breakthrough season and the 18-year old’s ability to shoot with both feet has caught everyone’s eyes.
As you can see in the visualization above, the trio has scored 39 out of the 44 goals from inside the box, while the rest have all come from outside the box. Six of the 44 goals scored were from the penalty spot and they were all scored by Marcus Rashford. Out of the three headers scored by the trio, Anthony Martial contributed with two and Rashford with one. Mason Greenwood scored four goals from outside the box, which is 80 per cent of the trio’s goals from outside the box. The trio has been a testament to Sir Matt Busby’s words: ‘If you are good enough, you are old enough’.
As a Manchester United fan myself, I hope they improve on their goal-scoring record next year and guide us to glory! Let us know what you think in the comments below!
