I am back after quite some time. I missed a few #MakeOverMonday datasets, but I hope I will keep #vizzing more.
This week’s MakeOverMonday focuses on the number of business applications in the USA from 2004. I have taken data from the last 10 years of non-corporations only. There was a significant rise in the number of business applications from non-corporations in 2020, the year in which the COVID-19 pandemic plagued the world.
It was expected that the number of businesses would reduce. Though a lot of companies closed down, we saw a 28.6% rise YoY in a number of business applications in 2020, a staggering increase compared to the increase in the other years.
There was a rise YoY in 2021 as well, and I hope that the number of business applications from non-corporations increase in the coming years as well, a sign of encouragement for those who intend to start off small businesses.
