21 Trillion Dollars. That’s the GDP of the world’s biggest economy, that of United States of America. The GDP of the country accounts for almost a quarter of the global GDP and, it is not surprising that the GDP of a few states in the country is higher than the GDP of a few countries around the world.
Week 40 of the #MakeOverMonday challenge talks about the GDP of counties in the United States of America. The data is collected from 2001 to 2018. The New York metro area dwarfs all other metro area by a large margin. This cluster, which includes Newark and Jersey City, is bigger than the metro areas surrounding Los Angeles and Chicago combined. Like we spoke about the GDP of a few states in the country being higher than the GDP of a few countries around the world, it is noticed that the GDP of California in is higher than the GDP of United Kingdom, in 2018.
