Interstate and Cross-Border 2022 Migration Patterns

Hi lads! I took a break between (again) and am back (again). I hope that I don’t take any breaks from now on and continue to post DataVizzes!

This week’s #MakeOverMonday focuses on Interstate and Cross-Border 2022 Migration Patterns. From 2013 to 2019, the difference between Average Inbound and Average Outbound has been negative, meaning that there was more outbound activity than inbound activity. But, since 2020, the Average Inbound has outgrown the Average Outbound.

From Atlas Van Lines’ study, it is evident that economic and societal shifts have led to many people relocating to areas with growing populations. In 2022, 10 states had more than 55% of the total population moving into the states and 12 states had more than 55% of the total population moving out of the states.

Do you think the inbound rates will increase this year as well? Let us know in the comments!
