MY FIRST #MakeOverMonday DataViz! And it is a co-incidence!
What’s the co-incidence, you ask? Throwback to my childhood days, my friend and I used to sit for hours, playing Club Penguin. I have always been intrigued by these unique animals and it was an absolute co-incidence that my first #MakeOverMonday viz is also related to Penguins.
There are three types of Penguins recorded in Palmer Station namely, Adelie, Chinstrap and Gentoo. This report talks about all the characteristics of the penguins.
Did you know that Penguins had wings? They are called flippers, and the average length of the flipper of all penguins at the Palmer Station was recorded to be 200.42 mm. Each penguin weighed an average of 4202 grams, with Gentoo penguins being the heaviest, weighing just above five kgs.
The main point of the graph was to find whether there was a correlation between body mass and the flipper length. Indeed, there was, as seen from the report.
The dataset also had the measurements of the culmen, the upper ridge of a bird’s beak. Chinstraps had the longest and deepest culmens. It was surprising to note Gentoo’s culmen. Having the smallest depth, Gentoo’s culmen length was as big as Chinstraps, way higher than Adelie.
