In this week’s #MakeOverMonday challenge, we discuss the Top 20 Largest Solar Power Plants in the world. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in the United Arab Emirates is the biggest Solar Plant in the world.
SEVEN of the largest solar plants are from India, followed by four from the United States of America. Yemen, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Libya are countries where Solar Power has a huge potential.
A couple of points to note about the Viz:
1. I have calculated efficiency as the Power Produced per Acre of land.
2. The colors used in the Aster Plot are different shades of yellow, signifying the rays of sunlight.
11 of the largest 20 solar plants have been built in the past three years, including the one which is the biggest and the one which produces the maximum Mega Watts (Bhadla Solar Park, India).
With the USA targeting 48% of its energy to come from Solar Plants, and with other countries investing huge amounts in Solar Energy, I am sure that we are going to see bigger plants and plants that provide more energy.
